This is for me the second book I read from Mindy Kaling the other one was "Why Not Me?" and my must say that was better. Whit that I am not saying that this one is bad, but the previous had more funny moments and more interesting stories.In this book which is in sort autobiographical Mindy is telling her life story and how she became famous writer. But have of the book are stories that are like which is Mindy fortieth movie, what she would do in certain situation.For me as a fan of "The Office" it was interesting to read some internal staff that Mindy is telling about the actors and the show. In total fast and funny read.
In einem Spartenkanal sehe ich gern die TV-Show mit Mindy Karling. Meist sind die Episoden sehr lustig, manchmal nerven sie aber auch. So auch das Buch, welches definitiv für den amerikanischen Markt geschrieben wurde. So ist manches nur schwer verständlich, da der deutsche Leser die Hintergründe nicht kennt. Aber für wenig Geld hat sich der Kauf doch gelohnt.
It's nice to read a book with a very positive message that is not simple or stupid.This is a different kind of success story: it's about hard-working without giving up the fun. Mindy tells us about her life, her geeky childhood, collage years and how she ended up doing what she loves the most: the world of comedy. The story's not perfectly lineal, there are funny lists, and a few part is about the human stupidity she had to deal with as a plus size woman.I never read something like this. The hole book is so funny, it made me laugh out loud on the bus. It's honest and sweet, and easy to read.After I finished the book, I had super confidence and energy for a week. If you feel let down or need a little inspiration, Mindy's story will help you.
Mindy Kaling zeigt auch hier wieder ihre einzigartige und höchst amüsante Art der Comedy. Ein fantastisches Buch, das uns einen meist witzigen Einblick in Kalings Leben bietet.Kaufempfehlung!
Quite a funny book with sweet personal insights and humorous stories. A great read for a quite afternoon or a vacation day.
Als absoluter Fan von Mindy Kaling musste ich das Buch natürlich lesen und fand es sehr lustig und interessant (wie sie z.B. aufgewachsen ist etc). Für alle Mindy-Fans ein Muss und für alle anderen: unbedingt mal "The Mindy Project" gucken :)
In her own hilarious voice, Mindy writes about her childhood and path to being a comedy writer/actress (with many opinions on romantic comedies, food and relationships thrown in). The book is incredibly relatable and belly-achingly funny - you'll be finished within a week and wonder why her next book about her life since The Office hasn't come out yet. A must-read.
